Additional Adoption Fee Information
GALT is charging an adoption fee of $750 for Australian retired racing greyhounds 7 years and younger and $650 for those 8 and over.
The Australian greyhounds arrive to us spayed or neutered with current rabies vaccinations. The transportation cost averages $1,620 per dog, and GALT spends another approximately $400 for CBC blood work with heartworm test, Protatek testing, dental and vaccinations required for this environment.
For its almost 22 years in existence, GALT has operated as a 501 (c) 3 Corporation. The Australian retired racers’ adoption fee correlates to this policy.

Nero, aka You’ll See, is a black female born January 1, 2020 in Australia. She is not individually registered so we don’t know about her lineage. Nero is okay with small dogs. She will be tested for cat tolerance soon.
Nero is the loveliest little lady!
She’s excellent with other dogs – big or small! She was very well behaved and relaxed when meeting a West Highland Terrier, Great Dane, and Labrador cross). She was fine when meeting cats, however with more confidence she might get excited. She would need a lot more work and very slow, gradual introductions to fully gauge her cat tolerance level. She will need to go to Kitty Boot Camp to be sure.
Nero loves her toys so will need a nice collection in her new home! Nero has lived in a yard as a pet as she does not like being in a kennel environment. She is a sensitive girl and prefers quiet surroundings.
Like most of us, Nero can be shy at first, and will settle and come out of her shell once she gets to know you and feels safe. Nero is very much ready to be a pet and would love nothing more than to be accepted into a forever family and home.
