September 25, 2010
On Sept. 25, 2010 GALT members and their greyhound participated in the Interactive Lab of the Continuing Education Program at the Southwest Veterinary Symposium held in Fort Worth.
Upon arrival each greyhound had a preliminary examination by 2nd year veterinary technician students from Murray State College. The technicians greeted the greyhounds and used their skills to obtain health and vaccination history, to ausculate lungs, get respiratory rates and check overall health status.
Following, the greyhounds took part in the Acupuncture Lab and later in the day were models for the Ortho-Neuro examinations. No greyhounds were harmed in the making of these lab sessions!
Thank you GALT members and their greyhounds; Joyce England and Champ, Lisa Bengelsdorf with Marti and Moira, Barbara Phillippi and Speed Bump, Peggy Brown with Tasha Fierce and Ellie.
Thank you to Dr. Culp and Jo Anderson for inviting GALT to be a part of the Southwest Veterinary Symposium. We look forward to assisting in future conferences. The Southwest Veterinary Symposium in gratitude sent a very generous donation to GALT.
