Additional Adoption Fee Information

GALT is charging an adoption fee of $750 for Australian retired racing greyhounds 7 years and younger and $650 for those 8 and over.

The Australian greyhounds arrive to us spayed or neutered with current rabies vaccinations. The transportation cost averages $1,620 per dog, and GALT spends another approximately $400 for CBC blood work with heartworm test, Protatek testing, dental and vaccinations required for this environment.

For its almost 22 years in existence, GALT has operated as a 501 (c) 3 Corporation. The Australian retired racers’ adoption fee correlates to this policy.

This hound’s adoption fee is: $750

Thyme, aka Amartey Party, is a brindle female greyhound born December 4, 2020 and is from Australia. Her sire is Andos Mac and her dam is Benne Fortuna. Thyme has 16 races to her credit. She has yet to be evaluated for cats but should not live with small dogs.

Thyme is a young, very energetic and funny character. There isn’t much that appears to get this girl down and her enthusiasm for life is hilarious. She is very happy to approach people and after the initial excitement, she settles down and walks well on lead. Thyme can manage stairs and will be more calm in a home environment than in boarding.
She does tend to jump on people, so she is likely not suitable for a home with small children. Thyme is not cat friendly though it is possible she may be able to live with medium sized dogs with proper introductions.
