GALT is charging an adoption fee of $750 for Australian retired racing greyhounds 7 years and younger and $650 for those 8 and over.
The Australian greyhounds arrive to us spayed or neutered with current rabies vaccinations. The transportation cost averages $1,620 per dog, and GALT spends another approximately $400 for CBC blood work with heartworm test, Protatek testing, dental and vaccinations required for this environment.
For its almost 22 years in existence, GALT has operated as a 501 (c) 3 Corporation. The Australian retired racers’ adoption fee correlates to this policy.

Shearer, aka Simple Shearer, is a handsome black male born on April 18, 2019. His sire is Dyna Villa and his dam is Shearers Ugg. Shearer ran 94 races at a variety of tracks in Australia before departing for America.
Shearer is a friendly, happy boy. He is quite energetic and loves to go for walks and runs, then after a bit of exercise he’s really quite lazy and just prefers to lie around all day. He is sociable and very friendly with people and other greys. He would suit most households with a med-large backyard, he loves kids and would be best with older children as he could knock over very young children, though he isn’t jumpy. He is ok for workers as after his morning run in the yard or a walk, he is happy to chill out for 3-5+ hours until you get home, then he will be excited to see you. He loves a smooch with you so he would love to spend time with you inside and out just being your buddy.
