In Loving Memory of Millie

GALT NM foster Millie, beloved Greyhound (#3713, fka Atascocita Lisp), peacefully passed away on December 27, 2024, after a courageous battle with mast cell cancer. Born June 20, 2014, Millie’s spirit shone brightly in her months with us, a testament to the resilience of the greyhound breed.

Since entering GALT’s care in May 2024, Millie touched the hearts of many. Her journey highlighted the unwavering support of the greyhound community – a true reflection of GALT’s core belief: “No grey turned away.” Generous donations from across the organization ensured Millie received the best possible care, and a stroke of “luck” placed her with Dr. Ginger Luck, a compassionate veterinarian who was her devoted foster mom. 

Ginger provided Millie with exceptional care and unwavering love during her treatment and in her final months. Millie will be deeply missed by Ginger and all who knew and cherished her. Millie was a championship snuggler, had a playful spirit and loved to dress up. The accompanying photo captures one of her favorite pastimes – joyfully frolicking in the snow.
