Lego
Lego was born on October 13, 2016; he is tattooed though never registered. Using his litter number, we learned his sire is LK’s Now R Never and his dam is Jack’s Shortfuse.
Lego joined GALT after his owner passed away. This distinguished fawn boy with a sugared face is spending time in a greyt foster home in Colorado while we determine if he has any medical needs. Look for him to be available soon!
Lego is an enormous bundle of joy. Born in October 2016 and weighing about 93 pounds, this handsome guy is looking for his new forever home after his owner passed away. He is a very happy and energetic older fella! He has some arthritis in his left leg, and it hasn’t stopped him from jumping up and down the few steps in his foster home and doing zoomies in the backyard.
He has shown some signs of mischief, such as nibbling on the sunflowers and stealing shoes. He appears to be well potty trained so far (both here and per history). This sweet boy has never had a backyard until now, so he’s currently learning how to use the doggy door with some success! He will figure it out in no time. You truly can teach an old dog new tricks!
He is very affectionate and will do the full greyhound smile (showing teeth), complete with chompy face and big efforts to lick your face. His very excited face can look quite intimidating though, especially when he goes in to lick YOUR face. He occasionally rears up in excitement, and 90+ pounds of Lego coming down is a lot.
He was an only dog his whole life, and he is getting along well with the two female greyhounds in his foster home. He is learning how to invite other dogs to play, though he tends to be too intense and energetic for them (despite his age). He is still learning how to respond to redirection, including “no” and “off”. I don’t think he’s hard of hearing though – more like selective hearing. Lego does have sleep startle and the age-old adage applies – let sleeping dogs lie. With him, you need to be sure he’s awake when approaching him.
Overall he is a big bundle of joy and going through a lot of changes all at once. He is doing better and is less anxious with each passing day. We don’t know yet if Lego is good around small dogs or cats. If you are wanting to make a huge positive impact on this senior boy’s life, please consider adding this Lego piece to your family. His enthusiasm is contagious!
