Gracie

Gracie, born December 10, 2024, was one of several greyhound mix puppies advertised for free on Craigslist in Houston. No other groups were able to help them. Two Good Samaritans stepped up to get them and found foster homes. GALT paid for vetting and boarding of the dogs until some made their way to other adoption groups in Texas. Gracie should not live with cats or small dogs.

Gracie is a stunning one-year-old lemon brindle sweetheart who loves nothing more than being close to her people. Her favorite place is right by your side, cuddled up with her head resting on your lap. When she’s not soaking up affection, Gracie is playful, curious, and eager to learn what life in a loving family is all about.

She’s getting used to the everyday sights and sounds of her neighborhood walks and continues to gain confidence. Gracie can be cautious when meeting new people, and once she knows you, she’ll quickly become your devoted best friend. On walks she is working to focus on her person and not react to unfamiliar things she sees.

Gracie adores her stuffies and will happily fetch them for you. She has a healthy appetite and is very food-motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding.

She would thrive in a home where her people are around most of the time, as she can be a bit nervous when left alone—though she’s making steady progress. Gracie has a high prey drive and should not live with small dogs or cats. Her ideal home would have a fenced yard where she can run, play, and chase squirrels.

If you’re looking for a loving, beautiful girl with an infectious joie de vivre, Gracie just might be your perfect match.
