Additional Adoption Fee Information

GALT is charging an adoption fee of $750 for Australian retired racing greyhounds 7 years and younger and $650 for those 8 and over.

The Australian greyhounds arrive to us spayed or neutered with current rabies vaccinations. The transportation cost averages $1,620 per dog, and GALT spends another approximately $400 for CBC blood work with heartworm test, Protatek testing, dental and vaccinations required for this environment.

For its almost 22 years in existence, GALT has operated as a 501 (c) 3 Corporation. The Australian retired racers’ adoption fee correlates to this policy.

This hound’s adoption fee is: $750

Falcon, aka Flying Falcon, is a blue male born February 9, 2020. His sire is Orson Allen and his dam is Visualize It. Falcon comes to GALT from Australia after running 19 races. He should not live with cats or small dogs.

G’day mate!  How ya goin’?  My name is Falcon!  At least I think it is.. or maybe it means chicken over here in the US since I get a piece of chicken whenever it is said.  Either way, I adore Chicken/Falcon!  I am a super friendly, outgoing Australian bloke and I have never met a stranger.  I will give everyone endless kisses and tail wags.  Speaking of my tail, it is quite the active helicopter.

I love life…and toys…and playing…and napping (I am a greyhound after all).  I am OK with getting my nails dremeled (I don’t love it, but then, who does?)  I get baths weekly, and again – I don’t love it, but I DO like being clean.  I get my teeth brushed daily, and THAT I do like.  I took to it real quick!  I get daily walks and have decent leash manners, but I do tend to wander if I see something interesting.  I ride great in the car.  I am crated when left, and even go into my crate on my own throughout the day to nap or play (I stash a toy or 5 in there for safe keeping).

Like most greyhounds, I like my schedule and I like knowing what is happening and when.  I am housetrained and sleep through the night like a big boy, but I also like to play like a puppy. I would really like a forever home with a yard and maybe a large companion dog, though no cats or small dogs as I do like to chase!

Furever yours?
