Diego

Diego, aka KL’s Desperado, is a 5.5 year old brindle and white male born on June 12, 2017. His sire is Pat C Clement and his dam is KL’s Wonder. Diego has 49 races to his credit on Greyhound Data. He was in a home for some time but came to GALT due to his owner’s work demands. Diego is okay with small dogs and children, and we will test for cat tolerance soon.

Hi, I’m Diego and I’m looking for my next work from home “assignment”! I’m a bit of a local celebrity in my foster mom and grandma’s neighborhoods since I love meeting new people and dogs on my walks. I prefer having someone home during the day. I get anxious when my human iis gone for long periods of time though I’m slowly learning that the crate is my safe space, so I will still need to work on that. My foster mom can’t leave me out of my crate since she says I can cause trouble when left to my own devices!

Despite my separation anxiety I am a big social, cuddly guy! I love snuggling with my foster mom and furry foster brother during the day and going on walks during my foster mom’s work breaks. I currently live in what my foster mom calls a townhome, and do great in smaller spaces, but also love my foster grandparents’ yard! I also love dogs of any size and am not bothered by the cats in my neighborhood, though I’ve never lived with one. In fact, my best friends are a 4 lb Yorkie and my foster brother who is smaller than me!  My one must for any home is blankets, as I love to snuggle in them, and be tucked in at night, especially during cold evenings. I typically whine until I get tucked in, and once I’m settled, I sleep through the night. I don’t like sleeping on human beds, as my dog bed is really comfy, though I do love snoozing on sofas!

My foster mom also says I’m an amazing walker. I don’t pull and walk right next to whichever human is walking me. I do like saying “Hi” to any people or dogs we see. I’ll whine and wag my tail in the hopes they’ll come over and say hello. I also love car rides, especially if I can go get a pup cup at a local coffee shop! I normally sleep in the car until my foster mom says we’re ready to get out.

I am not a big talker, however I will sing a sad song when I’m crated, and love chittering my teeth when I’m all snuggled next to people or playing with my toys. Oh, and I do love food! My foster mom gives me breakfast and dinner and keeps food off the counter, since if I’m hungry I try to pop up and sample whatever she’s made. If I sound like your next buddy, I’d love to meet you!
