Running at the Rainbow Bridge

Bernadette

Bernadette is an approximately 5 year old red female Saluki mix. She was left in the yard when her previous owners passed away and was abandoned by the family. She was rescued from the yard and is gaining some needed weight. Bernadette has recovered from Ehrlichia Canis, a tick borne disease, and has been treated for mammary masses. She is now ready for her forever home! Bernadette is not cat tolerant.

Bernadette is a petite girl who is a little shy. In spite of her shyness she seeks out human affection. She is a perfect house guest, she hasn’t had any accidents, hasn’t tried to get on the furniture, and she sleeps through the night and waits patiently to go outside in the morning.

She would prefer a quiet house and depends on her doggie companions to overcome scary situations like dark backyards and thunder. She is beginning to play with toys by tossing them around and chasing after them. Getting in and out of cars is a little scary but once inside she lays down and enjoys the ride.

She is great on walks and it helps to have a dog friend with her to show her the ropes. No kitties for this pretty girl though. If you’re looking for a small dog with great manners to add to your pack Bernadette may be the dog for you!
