Arctic
Arctic is an amazing looking brindle male born December 11, 2021. His sire is Feral Franky and his dam is Zelzer Allen. After just 4 races in Victoria, it was determined he would make a fine couch potato! Arctic gets along well with small and large dogs.
If you’re dreaming of a hound as chill as his name, Arctic—also known as Artie and affectionately nicknamed “Baby Seal”—might just be your perfect match. He’s fully committed to the concept of retirement: uninterested in chasing squirrels, happy to enjoy leisurely walks (but not too far), and most content curled up on his favorite bed or nose-to-nose on the floor with his new best friend, an Australian shepherd packmate.
Arctic is ready to sleep through winter with his thick double coat, built for snow-day naps. He’s a petite boy with neat, compact feet and a long, curling tail—mostly black with a whimsical white tip. His blazing red brindle pattern includes wood-grain stripes between his eyes, adding to storybook looks. His nickname “Baby Seal” comes from his limpid brown eyes, which gaze at everyone—and every morsel of food—with affection.
Don’t let his love of rest fool you. Arctic is a clever young strategist. Within 30 minutes of arriving, he mastered the dog door. He quickly discovered that with a little teamwork, he and his foster brother could distract me just long enough to cause a bit of mischief.
He’s a Velcro pup in the sweetest way: glued to my side, always ready to offer butterfly kisses if I lean in. His favorite thing? Having his head cradled and his ears gently rubbed, eyes closed in bliss. He hasn’t ventured onto the furniture (yet), though I suspect he’s quietly evaluating the coziest spots for future sleeps with his forever family.
Arctic is a gentle soul who defers to the leader, content to follow rather than command. In his foster home, he’s a loyal companion to a diverse pack: two chihuahua mixes, an Australian shepherd, and a large sighthound mix. In his forever home, he may discover his leadership abilities; for now, he’s happy to follow the boss and be a friend to all.
Arctic is seeking a home with a loving family, perhaps older children who understand dogs, a yard for sunbathing, and at least one canine companion to share his quiet joy. No kitties for this boy. He can be vocal, so no apartments, please.
