Operation Kindness' 10th Annual Dog Day Afternoon
Saturday, June 5, 2004

Operation Kindness is hosting its 10th annual DOG DAY AFTERNOON 2004 family event on Saturday, June 5th.

WHEN: Sat, June 5, 2004, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm (Walk begins at 9 am, Events/Entertainment begin at 10 am)

WHERE: Bob Woodruff Park, NORTH Pavilion - Plano (on Park Blvd, just east of Shiloh Rd; Mapsco 660-J – see map)

Since GALT's beginning, Operation Kindness and GALT have worked hand in hand in our missions to better the canine worlds. We encourage the GALT family of greyhounds to come out, have fun, and participate in the Honor Walk (starts at 9:00 am), which is a way to honor or memorialize your beloved grey or honor GALT's Miss Mesa Greyhounds and memorialize those greyhounds waiting at the Rainbow Bridge. Early registration for the Honor Walk and other activities can be done online or you can register the day of the event for slightly higher fees.

Stop by and see GALT with available greyhounds for adoption in the Rescue Tent, as located on the attached site map. In years' past GALT has participated in the Honor Walk, which is a Greyt way to help Operation Kindness and have fun with our greys at the same time. Operation Kindness works with GALT in transferring greyhounds they receive to us for placement, helping when we have an influx of strays, and also helps by taking mixes that we rescue.

Here are some quick details of the day's events:

  • The HONOR WALK kicks off at 9:00am sharp - walkers will go 1 mile around the lake with their dogs in honor or memory of their best pal (person or pet). Walkers will wear special bibs that note who they are walking in honor or memory of.
