Angel's Strays Fund

Greyhound strays are a very common occurrence in the DFW area. Over 25% of the greyhounds brought into GALT's program have been strays. These strays are the most neglected - being abandoned and left to fend for themselves by the irresponsible behavior of some when their racing days are over. Often times greyhounds are used for coyote hunting and match racing, which is an illegal form of backyard greyhound racing.

It is not unusual for these greyhounds to be extremely malnourished, heartworm positive, suffer for an array of tick borne diseases and other debilitating parasites. These are the greys that need the most medical rehabilitation which translates into being the greys that require the most expensive treatment. Their lives are at risk if they are not rescued and nursed back to health.

Angel McQuade

Angel's Strays has been created in memory of Angel, beloved 14-year-old greyhound of Greyhound Adoption League of Texas, Inc. founding members, Susie and John McQuade. Angel was their first greyhound and became the driving force in their passion for this magnificent breed. Her spirit and their love for her will live on in their work with GALT. Angel's history, like many of GALT's strays, was never known because her right ear tattoo was illegible, so it is fitting that she is watching over them.

Please help GALT save the lives of stray or injured greyhounds by making a tax deductible donation, either directly online, through PayPal (click on the button below), or by sending your check to P. O. Box 680, Addison, TX 75001-0680 for Angel's Strays Fund. Donations to this fund may be used to assist other Greyhounds in need as outlined in our Mission Statement.
