Additional Adoption Fee Information
GALT is charging an adoption fee of $750 for Australian retired racing greyhounds 7 years and younger and $650 for those 8 and over.
The Australian greyhounds arrive to us spayed or neutered with current rabies vaccinations. The transportation cost averages $1,620 per dog, and GALT spends another approximately $400 for CBC blood work with heartworm test, Protatek testing, dental and vaccinations required for this environment.
For its almost 22 years in existence, GALT has operated as a 501 (c) 3 Corporation. The Australian retired racers’ adoption fee correlates to this policy.

Jack, aka Nimble Valley, is a black male born November 17, 2017. His sire is My Bro Fabio and his dam is Wattle Valley. Jack has 60 races to his credit. He is good with medium/large dogs. He will be evaluated with cats and small dogs soon.
You won’t want this Jack to hit the road! Our jolly Jacky Boy is so happy – and a bit weird! In a nutshell, he’s an oddball, a very adorable and friendly one at that! Jack loves his food and won’t have any issues cleaning up his bowls at mealtime! He’s great with kids! Regularly has young children coming in and out of the kennels. He does not pay them much attention.
Like most of us, Jack can get a bit excited when meeting new friends (of the human and canine variety!), however he settles quickly and reverts back to his chilled, tranquil self. He is good with other
Greyhounds. He is best suited to other Medium-Large breed dogs, While Jack was quite excitable when he first met an Italian Greyhound, he did settle and has been doing more and more small dog work. Jack has the potential to be small-dog tolerant, after very slow, gradual introductions.
Jack received massages regularly (jealous!) so is used to being handled – and will probably still expect regular belly and body rubs! He also loves back and ear scratches – they make his legs kick out too! Genius Jack comes when his name is called. If lounging around was an Olympic sport, Jack would win every time! He can usually be found roaching, making it near impossible not to give him belly rubs!! Jacky Boy still loves playing with his toys! He also loves exploring and running around the backyard.
Jack can be a bit of a strange lad sometimes. He would hide behind the curtains and stand still or go under desks and stare at the floor wagging his tail, we don’t know what he thought he could see! Perhaps it’s his version of Hide & Go Seek or Trancing. Jack does loosen up though, he might just need a bit of time to feel comfortable with new people or in new environments.
