Additional Adoption Fee Information
GALT is charging an adoption fee of $750 for Australian retired racing greyhounds 7 years and younger and $650 for those 8 and over.
The Australian greyhounds arrive to us spayed or neutered with current rabies vaccinations. The transportation cost averages $1,620 per dog, and GALT spends another approximately $400 for CBC blood work with heartworm test, Protatek testing, dental and vaccinations required for this environment.
For its almost 22 years in existence, GALT has operated as a 501 (c) 3 Corporation. The Australian retired racers’ adoption fee correlates to this policy.

Winnie, aka Little Winny, is a black female born July 8, 2021. Her sire is Fernando Bale and his dam is Hardaway Winnie. Winnie ran only 9 races before coming to GALT. She is good with children and has met a small dog on lead. Winnie will be evaluated with small animals and cats soon.
Hi, my name is Winnie! My foster pawrents call me Winnnie-winner, Winston, Winnie-woo-woo, and all kinds of other ridiculous things. Despite all of that, I do know my name and will come to you when you call, most of the time.
I am the goodest of good dogs. My favorite things are breakfast and dinner, squeaky toys, soft beds, chew toys like Yak sticks and bully sticks, and my people. I am super friendly and excited every time you walk into the room. I like being near my people and getting many pets and scritches behind my ears.
I am potty trained and will let you know when I need to go out. I sleep through the night with no issues. My foster pawrents are trying to crate-train me. It is ok, but it is not my favorite thing. I will go in there with some coaxing and will sleep quietly, and if I had a choice, I would rather sleep on one of the other dog beds in the house.
I love my foster greyhound sister though she does not really love me back. When I run and play in the yard I get really excited and I nibble when I play. My foster sister is not too happy with that. When my foster pawrents are in the yard with me, I like it when they throw squeaky toys and tennis balls for me to chase. I will return the squeaky toys to them to throw again but not the tennis balls.
We have not done much in the way of walking on a leash because it has been so cold, I do ok on the lead.
I am looking for my forever home with a family who will love me, and I will love them right back. I would like to have a dog brother or sister who wants to play and snuggle with me and a good yard to run and spin in.
