Darcy
Darcy is a lovely black female born January 29, 2024. Her sire is Shima Shine, and her dam is Kooringa Lucy. Darcy didn’t show racing potential in her one race, so she opted for early retirement.
Darcy is a calm, gentle girl with a sweet and affectionate nature. She presents herself as quiet and easy-going, taking new environments and interactions in stride while remaining soft and friendly throughout her assessment. Darcy enjoys human company and responds beautifully to positive consent-based handling, often leaning into affection and calmly engaging with those around her. Her soft body language and relaxed demeanor suggest she will transition well into a home environment.
Darcy has been assessed as workable with small dogs. She showed friendly intentions during interactions and maintained soft, appropriate body language throughout. With continued positive introductions and guidance, she is expected to continue building confidence and polite social skills around smaller breeds. Darcy has not yet been tested with cats, therefore a cat-free home is recommended until further assessment can be completed. Due to her calm and gentle personality, Darcy could comfortably live with children aged 10 years and older who understand respectful interactions with dogs.
Her quiet temperament makes her a lovely candidate for a family looking for a relaxed and affectionate companion. Darcy displayed a low prey drive during assessment, showing little to no interest in movement-based stimuli. This calm approach to her environment suggests she is likely to settle nicely into a domestic lifestyle with routine, companionship, and continued positive experiences. Overall, Darcy is a lovely, soft-natured girl who would thrive in a caring home where she can enjoy affection, stability, and being part of the family.
