Paton is a pretty Aussie girl with a sweet and active personality plus a big greyhound “smile”. She gets along great with other dogs (living with a male greyhound and female pitbull-mix) though is not overly dependent on their presence.
She loves to lay on the grass outside and follow you around. Her mischievous side is to carry things around while you’re gone, including dirty laundry if you leave anything on the floor! She doesn’t chew anything, though there’s always a present like a sock waiting on the living room floor when I get back home.
Speaking of returning, I’m always greeted with a kangaroo-bucking sweetie with a big smile, it’s a sight to see! Paton has very nice house manners, knows how to ask to go outside and sleeps during most of the day like a good greyhound. She loves to walk and easily trots along 5k without a single stop so she’d love to have a family who likes running or just doing long walks.
She doesn’t get on the furniture, though she did jump on the bed once and was quickly taught it’s not ok and she hasn’t done it since. She can be a bit timid around new people and takes her time to settle in. You can see she wants to meet all the people entering the house even though she doesn’t have the courage immediately to receive pets. When outside she’s not too interested in other dogs or people that walk by, her focus is on trotting and eying for squirrels and bunnies.
She can be quite bouncy when she’s excited so not the best match with small children, small dogs or cats. One more thing worth mentioning, she likes to talk back to her image in a window or mirror.. you name it! It’s a rooroo fest and quite hilarious to watch! So overall she’s a very nice and easy girl to live with, with a lot of character that will make you laugh on a daily basis. No doubt you fall in love with her.
