• Loads into the car like a champ and loves riding with his head out the window
• House-trained and reliably alerts to go outside by pacing or staring at you
• No crate needed — never used one and has had zero issues without it
• A perfect gentleman indoors: no counter-surfing, chewing, or mischief of any kind (no digging outside either)
• Respectful of everyone’s belongings
• Usually walks beautifully on leash and enjoys exploring the neighborhood

His Favorite Things

Pablo is a self-described couch potato at heart, but don’t let that fool you, he lights up for his daily walks, trotting happily along to take in every smell and sight the neighborhood has to offer. At home, he splits his time between his person’s office and the living room, always wanting to be wherever the people are.

Pablo has a sweet, quiet way of asking for affection: rather than climbing into your lap, he’ll sneak up beside the bed and rest his face just inches from yours, silently hoping for some head scratches. He hasn’t shown much interest in toys yet, but treats are absolutely the way to his heart, and a happy, enthusiastic “good boy!” will earn you a big response.

He’s not a bath fan and is still a bit unsure of new situations, but he’s shown real growth, he’s gone from needing reassurance to settling comfortably into his foster home’s rhythm, including several hours alone without any trouble.

Could Pablo Be Your Perfect Match?

Pablo is looking for a quiet, calm household where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. He gets along wonderfully with other greyhounds but should not live with cats and likely not other dog breeds, and a home with no young children is a must. 

One thing his foster family wants adopters to know: Pablo can be reactive to other dogs while on leash, especially non-greyhound breeds, and may bark, growl, or jump a little when one passes by. He tends to mirror the energy of the dog he encounters, if the other dog is calm, his reaction is minimal, but higher-energy dogs can set him off. The good news is he corrects easily when his handler stays calm and blocks his view of the other dog, and his foster family has seen real progress with consistent practice. He’ll do best with an adopter who’s comfortable working through this with patience and confident leash handling. Pablo loves his praise and a quick and happy “good boy!” makes him smile and respond positively. Treats will be the way to this boy’s heart! And once he trusts you and becomes comfortable in his new environment, he will be a wonderful addition to any calm and comfortable home.

Pablo is on a sensitive-stomach diet and daily joint supplements, plus anxiety medication for thunderstorms and fireworks, easy additions to his routine for the right adopter. He’s a bit heat-sensitive too, so summer outings will need some monitoring.
