GALT is charging an adoption fee of $750 for Australian retired racing greyhounds 7 years and younger and $650 for those 8 and over.
The Australian greyhounds arrive to us spayed or neutered with current rabies vaccinations. The transportation cost averages $1,620 per dog, and GALT spends another approximately $400 for CBC blood work with heartworm test, Protatek testing, dental and vaccinations required for this environment.
For its almost 22 years in existence, GALT has operated as a 501 (c) 3 Corporation. The Australian retired racers’ adoption fee correlates to this policy.

Happy boy Oscar is a striking fawn male born January 21, 2021. His sire is Beast Unleashed and his dam is Aston Klara. Oscar ran 21 races at various tracks in Australia before retiring in October 2023.

Oscar is a handsome fawn boy. He is easily recognizable with his whirly-twirly ears that are constantly in motion. Oscar wins friends wherever he goes with his extra gentle and loving nature.
Having just turned four, Oscar is a playful pup who wants nothing more than belly rubs and kind words. He is all about loving his people, and will chitter contentedly when petted.
He has been living the city life in an elevator-access apartment as a single dog with his foster family. His quiet, couch potato ways are perfectly suited to apartment life. When left alone, he does not get into mischief as he prefers to nap or play nicely with his toys. He is calm and relaxed even in thunderstorms.
Oscar is about 75 pounds and easy to handle on leashed walks in the park. When he meets other dogs, he is respectful and happy. This guy would love to play with doggy friends. His favorite playtime games are fetch, jog with me, and seek-the-treat. He loves to run and leap while playing and is never mouthy or rough.
Oscar is looking for a home where he can give and receive plenty of affection and would do equally well in a busy family home with children or a quiet empty nest home.
