Meet Dante
With her petite face, soft coat, and soulful expression, Dante has a way of winning hearts at first sight. This lovely greyhound is happiest when her velvety ears are being rubbed, and she has settled into foster-home life like a seasoned pro.
Dante’s Greatest Hits
- Road-trip ready: she hops into a hatchback and rides calmly
- Crate comfortable: she goes in willingly and even chooses it for daytime naps
- A champion sleeper who stays quiet through the night
- A quick study when it comes to household routines
- House-trained: she heads to the back door when nature calls and has had no accidents
- A pleasant walking companion alongside another greyhound
- A friendly housemate to her foster family’s male greyhound
Her Favorite Things
Dante wasted no time showing that she knows how to relax: she was roaching from day one. When she is not perfecting that pose, she loves exploring the backyard, splashing in a kiddie pool, and keeping careful watch for squirrels through the window. Her future family should be prepared for a little comedy—and the occasional cheerful, dripping-wet dog trotting in from the pool.
Inside, Dante is an impressively polite roommate. She stays off the furniture, leaves the counters alone, and can be trusted not to make mischief when she is home uncrated. She sampled the bed once, apparently decided it was overrated, and has not bothered with it since.
Dante is not particularly food motivated and initially needed a little help understanding the appeal of treats. She eats separately from her housemate, and there have been no issues. This sensitive girl responds best to calm guidance and positive reinforcement, so a patient adopter will help her confidence continue to blossom.
Could Dante Be Your Perfect Match?
Dante is thriving in a quiet foster home and may be ready for a family that can add a little more activity, enrichment, and adventure to her days. Hot weather has limited public outings, so her comfort with strangers is still being discovered. Her experience with children is also unknown; thoughtful introductions and continued observation will help set everyone up for success. Dante should not live with cats, she’s too interested in chasing them.
If your heart and home have room for a gentle, adaptable greyhound with terrific manners, a playful streak, and an excellent upside-down lounging pose, Dante would love to begin her next adventure with you.
