Buggy’s given name just doesn’t match his personality. In his foster home he’s known as Tigra, which suits him perfectly: Tigra comes from an ancient word associated with being fast and pointy—a pretty accurate description of this long-legged, speedy, pointy-eared boy.He’s a striking brindle hound with the looks of a majestic jungle cat and the personality of a lovable goofball.

Tigra can be shy when you first meet him, and he needs a little time to decide that you’re his person. Once he trusts you, that’s it—you’ll have a shadow for life. ❤️ He will follow you everywhere, stay close by your side, and happily turn into the biggest cuddle bug.

He is incredibly gentle around other dogs and has such a sweet nature. He’s also extremely athletic, unbelievably fast, and somehow… hilariously clumsy at the same time. Watching this tall, graceful-looking creature trip over his own feet or get himself into a goofy situation is part of his charm.

Tigra is also very smart and trainable. Since coming into foster home, he hasn’t had a single accident in the apartment. It took him a little bit to get used to the sights and sounds urban living and now he embraces it – even the elevator in the complex. He picks things up quickly and really wants to learn.

Now, in the interest of full disclosure, Tigra does have a few hobbies we are working on—mainly stealing food from the table and occasionally helping himself to clothing items that he has decided would look better in his personal collection. With his intelligence and willingness to learn, though, he responds very well to training and boundaries.

And then there are his looks. Tigra is genuinely stunning. His tall, lean build and beautiful tiger-like brindle pattern make him impossible not to notice. Be prepared to get stopped on walks—we average at least three compliments a day. He somehow manages to look incredibly majestic while being an absolute clown once you know him.

Tigra would be perfect for someone who can give a shy dog a little patience at the beginning and, in return, wants an affectionate, loyal, athletic, gentle, slightly goofy best friend who will never want to leave their side.

He may take a little time to give you his heart—but once he does, he gives you the whole thing. 🐯❤️
