Welcome to Greyhound Awareness Month - October 2010

Greyhound Planet is a time chosen each year to honor the greyhound and its relatives (galgos, lurchers, etc.) throughout the world. The purpose of this international event is to raise the public's awareness of the wonder and magic of greyhounds as pets, educate others on the current status of greyhounds around the world and to honor those greyhounds who have left us already.

This event has grown so large from the first year in 2002 that is has been expanded! It started out with a one-day celebration, and now its been expanded to eight days all over the world! GALT has taken this event one step further and declared October Greyhound Awareness Month. Throughout the month, we have many different events planned including Rahr Brewery Tasting, Meet & Greets, Pup Crawl & Poker Run…..to just name a few!

Gathering in large numbers in public is the best way to get everyone's attention, so let's all join together this year and every year and celebrate the most wonderful, incredible companions on earth - the Greyhounds!

Saturday, October 9

Rahr & Sons Brewery - Meet & Greet and Fundraiser

Fort Worth, Texas
Three to four available dogs will be at this event. Join us for good beer and fun, and GALT gets a portion of the proceeds!

Deep Ellum Pup Crawl & Poker Run – Benefiting The Greyhound Adoption League of Texas
Join GALT for an afternoon celebrating the greyhounds leisurely strolling through Deep Ellum with your pooch! All breeds are welcome to participate in the Pup Crawl.
