Strike

Strike is a handsome black male born December 16, 2019. His sire is Zambora Brockie and his dam is Clover Connie. Strike didn’t show racing potential and opted to pursue home life.

Strike is a fun, social, and engaging boy who brings a lovely balance of playfulness and independence. Throughout his assessment he presented himself as confident and friendly, showing a genuine interest in interacting with both people and other dogs. He has an easy-going nature and was happy to explore his environment while still checking back in for interaction and engagement.

Strike has been assessed as workable with small dogs and displayed very appropriate social behaviour during introductions. He was interactive and playful, offering polite sniffs and engaging in a friendly manner without becoming overwhelming. Importantly, Strike also demonstrated excellent self-regulation, naturally auto disengaging to go off and do his own thing when he had finished interacting. His ability to balance play with calm independence is a lovely trait and suggests he could integrate well into a multi-dog environment with continued positive experiences. Strike has not yet been tested with cats, therefore a cat-free home is recommended until further assessment can be completed. Strike would be suitable for living with children aged 3 years and older and has reportedly been around children previously. His social and friendly temperament, combined with his relaxed approach to handling and interaction, suggests he would enjoy being part of a family environment. As with all dogs, ongoing supervision and respectful interactions are recommended with younger children.

During assessment, Strike displayed a low prey drive and showed little to no interest in movement-based stimuli. His calm responses and ability to disengage appropriately indicate he is likely to adapt well to a domestic lifestyle and enjoy a balance of activity, companionship, and downtime. Overall, Strike is a lovely-natured boy who is playful, polite, and easy-going. He would thrive in a home where he can enjoy companionship, enrichment, and being included as part of the family.
