Brandi
Brandi is a lovely black female born July 6, 2021. Her sire is Superior Panama, and her dam is Sweet Bourbski. Brandi had 25 races at various tracks in Victoria and New South Wales Australia before retiring to seek the good life. Brandi is too interested in cats and should not live with them.
🎶 Brandi, you’re a fine girl; what a good dog you will be! 🎶 Well, she already is a good girl! Brandi is at that lovely age when she just “gets it”. She gets very excited to meet new people – quickly giving kisses and proclaiming everyone her new best friend. When her people come home, she can be a bit jumpy and then she calms down with the reminder to keep “4 on the floor”. Sometimes Brandi goes between the legs when she can’t contain herself. This sweet sugar-faced girl gets along well with other dogs, though cats are not destined to be part of her family.
Brandi can be extremely “helpy” in the kitchen as she will strategically position herself in front of wherever you want to be! She does a greyt impersonation of a rug – near the pantry, oven, refrigerator, sink – and doesn’t seem to mind if you step over her. However, when the fridge door or trash can opens, her head magically appears to check out what delectibles are inside. Unfortunately she also does that with the oven so care needs to be taken to ensure neither you nor she get singed.
Squeaky toys are all the rage! Once she figured them out, she had a blast checking out the toy box. Anything plastic, like a honky pig or those nubby toys, need to be avoided as she will chew on them. She will let you take things out of her mouth. Brandi is food motivated and eats fairly fast. We make sure she goes out when she’s done eating so she doesn’t hover over the others. She takes treats gently and understands everydoggy gets their turn.
Brandi does well with her foster siblings and likes to patrol the yard with them. Squirrels are quite interesting since they don’t have them in Australia. On a walk, she’s alert and always looking for critters.
Brandi quickly learned that couches are quite comfortable and if it was occupied by another dog, she just joined them. She shared a loveseat with her housemates without incident. We haven’t experienced sleep startle and we’re always mindful to always let sleeping dogs lie, and to say their name to make sure they’re awake.
Her ideal home will have other canine companions and people to adore. She doesn’t mind being crated when everyone leaves and will rest until you return. Brandi really is a fine girl!!
