Three of GALT's foster greys - Mimi, Spot and Raggedy Ann - had quite an adventure this past weekend. They went on a road trip to College Station and were the star attractions in GALT's booth at the Open House for the Texas A&M Veterinary School. This was a wonderful event for educating the public about greyhound adoption, as over 10,000 people attended from all over Texas. Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and 4-H members - many of whom are interested in pursuing veterinary medicine - were out in full force, checking out all types of animal exhibits and touring the fabulous facilities at A&M. GALT's three greys were perfect ambassadors, handling the huge, noisy crowds like seasoned veterans - and collecting over $225 in their donation vests!
Many thanks to Ardith Walters and Barb Christian - who transported and took care of the dogs - and Sara and Kent Ramadan, who handled the event registration, set-up and take-down.
