September 18 & 19, 2003
For the fourth year, GALT showcased its greyhounds at Oktoberfest in Addison on the porch of the historic Stone Cottage. The Dallas summer stayed late this year. Although it is supposed to be fall, it still felt like summer on September 18 and 19.
GALT's fosters and volunteers braved the warm afternoons to give the greyhounds an opportunity to find their forever homes. Lucky Dagwood (now Champ) was one such greyhound.
Thanks to all the volunteers and fosters, Kristin Fields, Suzanne Burke, Melody McLaughlin, Amy Thompson, John Rocha (and his ever-ready camera), Melissa Cody, Rita Greer, Suzanne Cody, Joe and Mary Hoiles (with Crowley in his cool goggles), Lisa Bengelsdorf, Jennifer and Ed Keating, Joanne Smith, Susie McQuade, John McQuade and Suzanne Griggs. Shawn Fernandez also got some greyt video footage. Noel Padden, GALT's President, stopped by to visit the dogs but was "on duty" as the Addison Fire Chief.
This was the first time Lad has been shown since becoming healthy and taken off GALT's injured reserve. Everyone was overjoyed to see how wonderful he looks.
Mark your calendar and join GALT next year on the porch of the Stone Cottage for another successful Oktoberfest!
