Winter is an approximately 3 to 4-year-old white male, found as a stray by Ft. Worth Animal Control on April 27, 2010. Nothing is known of his background, and since he is not tattooed, his age is estimated. Winter arrived with a positive titer to Ehrlichia as well as Babesia. Successful treatment has been completed, and this was determined by a PCR (polymerase chain reaction), which is a tick-borne panel test by Antech that shows if there is an active infection in the body. All of Winter's results showed he is negative to Ehrlichia, Babesia and other tick-borne diseases. Winter then developed sarcoptic mange, and he has been sucessfully treated. He is ready to find his forever home!
Winter is not cat tolerant and has not been tested with small animals yet.
