Susie Q, aka Umr Susie Q, is a 5.5-year-old, white female who sports a brindle eye patch and brindle ears. Born on December 30, 2000, Susie Q is the offspring of sire, Our Pacer, and dam, Jubal Ruble. Susie Q started racing in November 2002 at the Tri State track in Cross Lanes, WV. She moved further north, competing in New Hampshire at the Hinsdale track and Seabrook Greyhound Park. Taking a giant leap west, Susie Q then found herself in Arizona where she finished her racing career at the Tucson Greyhound Park. There are 125 races in Susie Q's name, and she is more than ready to trade kennel life for home life. Susie Q appears to be cat tolerant.
Susie Q is very affectionate, loves to cuddle and put her head on your lap. She will take all the attention you want to give her. Susie loves to go for car rides. She lies down, relaxes and enjoys the ride.
She does well with both large and small dogs, and she is cat tolerant. At first, she thought she was the only one to get my attention but my Rat Terrier let her know I was a shared parent and everyone gets a turn with my attention.
Susie has no issues with feeding time with the other dogs, she loves to eat and enjoys her treats. She has excellent house manners. She quickly understood what the dog door was used for and has had no potty-training issues. She is a good girl, and walks well on a leash.
She is crate trained, and willingly goes into the crate. However, as she has earned her trust in the house, I only use the crate while I am at work.
At night, she sleeps on a doggie bed in the bedroom. She would love to sleep on the bed with the other dogs but has learned that she sleeps on the doggie bed and when she gets a forever home her parents will determine if she's allowed on the bed and furniture. Susie has learned about "squeaky toys" and loves to play with them.
She will often follow you from room to room and settle down wherever you do. She loves to be close to you so that she is there each and every time you would like to scratch her ears or pet her. Susie knows what "NO" means, that is all it takes for her to stop what she is doing.
Susie will do well with other dogs (large and small) and cats. She is looking for her forever home, so if you are looking for a huggable Greyhound, Susie might just be the dog for you.
