Slick, aka Sunsand Slick, is a 2-year-old, white and black male born August 1, 2007. His sire is Lonesome Cry, making his grand sire the late famous Gable Dodge, and his dam is Sunsands Sienna, making his grand sire the late famous Molotov. There are no races to Slick’s credit on Greyhound-data.com. Slick was a release to the Tri Cities Shelter because he was not “fast enough,” so most likely he was turned in by a match racer. Slick needs to put on a few pounds, and hopefully his foster home will accomplish that soon! His markings are very distinctive, and back of his ears look like a Dalmatian’s! It is not known at this time if Slick is small animal or cat tolerant.
Slick a/k/a Slickapottamus is a very loving and lazy boy. Since having discovered dog beds he rarely moves from one and has perfected the art of being an inside dog.
His house manners are impeccable as he has not had one accident indoors. He will do business outdoors first before play even. He has slept through every night without incident even! Again, why leave the comfort of the dog bed… just wait until morning.
He is a healthy eater and LOVES his treats. Since he still needs to gain a couple pounds he is never denied a treat.
Slick is small dog tolerant and is currently living with two Italian Greyhounds and has embraced them as his fellow dog bed mates. His third foster sister, a basset hound, is his constant companion in the backyard. They play bow to each other and then run and run and run around the yard together. He will be tested with cats at a later time. As always, we caution close supervision when introducing a greyhound to small dogs.
He is still cautious of newcomers to the house, but after a few meetings (and a handful of treats) he warms up.
The most endearing quality of this boy is his body shake. He will get to shaking his front end and by the time it reaches his back end both feet will come off the ground at once while his rear end is still in full wiggle. He looks like a helicopter trying to take off.
