Shirley, aka Bets on Shirley, is a regal 9-year-old black brindle senior "lady" greyhound who was born in August 1992. After retiring from the Harlingen race track in 1995, Shirley was adopted and has been in a home for 7 years. She is now looking for a place to spend the rest of her life, without any small kids, but another grey and cats are just fine! Shirley loves lots of attention, love, and is quiet, laid back and quite the couch, oops, we should say, bed potato! She is completely house oriented, and just wants to be part of the pack. Shirley knows all the basic obedience commands, and is very intelligent! Shirley could very well be called "the perfect greyhound" in a loving home, with or without older children.
Shirley is a joy: not an alpha bone in her body; loves her grey brother, grey sister and her 2 mutt sisters; and sharing my bed. She does understand that the bed belongs to me at night! She prefers to not walk over linoleum unless treats are available, and is a champion kisser. She loves to snuggle and rub her head against mine. Shirley does her special "Happy Dance" when I get home from work, and it's an amazing sight! This sweet girl will enrich the life of the lucky person who adopts her.
