Sadie

Sadie is an approximately three year old fawn female found as a stray in west Texas. She was originally placed by A Place for Us Greyhound Adoption in Lubbock. However, GALT was recently contacted when the original owners contacted APFUGA. Sadie had become an escape artist from her home, which was close to a very busy highway, and they were fearful for her safety.

In speaking with APFUGA, it has been determined that Sadie is definitely the mom to GALT's "ABC" pups ( Amelia, Bentley and Celina) taken in 2017 from Tulia Animal Control. It is not known at this time if Sadie is small animal or cat tolerant.

Sadie is a very sweet young lady. She is one of the easiest fosters I've ever cared for as she has excellent house manners. She hasn't had any accidents in my house, politely going to the door when she needs to go out. She walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. In her former home Sadie had a history of escaping under the fence, but she hasn't shown any interest in digging or trying to escape at my home where she is only out in the yard for short periods. Sadie doesn't particularly like being crated, but when I put her in the crate she lies down quietly until I return. I have also left Sadie and my dog loose in the house together for short periods with no problems. When Sadie moved in she quickly adapted to my schedule, going to bed when I do and not making a peep until I get up in the morning. Sadie really tries hard to follow the house rules. She jumped on my bed once, but when I said no she hopped down and hasn't tried that again.

Sadie is a people dog who is friendly with everyone she meets (both adults and children) and likes to spend her days relaxing in whatever room I am in. So far, she hasn't shown any interest in toys but occasionally enjoys a little run around the yard with my dog. Her favorite hobbies include going for walks, being petted, meeting people and just hanging out close to a person. Sadie is an excellent companion who just wants a forever home with someone who will love her and want to hang out with her.
