Merle

Merle is an almost 2 year old fawn male born in July 2015. He came from Muskogee, OK with Cash and Waylon. They were owner surrenders to the animal shelter there. Merle was positive to Ehrlichia Canis, but has been successfully treated and is ready to begin his forever home search. Merle is considered to be cat tolerant.

Single fawn male in search of a fabulous family with other dogs for company. Must love hanging out watching TV, going on long or short walks and watching me sleep. I may be an Okie from Muskogee but now I call Texas home. I didn’t used to like car rides or go for walks, Mama tried everything – but once she put on the magic Thunderleash, everything was A-OK! Now I jump in and out of the car and get in line to get my leash on. I don’t mind thunderstorms or vacuum cleaners, not much scares me…I’m even learning to live with cats. I bark at the kitty to let it know I’m there in case he doesn’t see me. Life inside a house with lots of dog beds is the best thing! I’m the running kind with my dog buddy in the backyard and if my dog buddy goes in a crate when the family is gone, I’ll go in a crate too. I might be known to use my hungry eyes to get an extra treat. I know how to use the swinging doors of a doggy door. If we’re all home, I don’t like to be too far from my people or I’ll whine and sing a sad song looking for them. Is your life missing a little Merle?
