Lyle is a 5 year old red fawn male found as a stray near Mansfield, TX. He is double tattooed, so we are not able to identify his pedigree. When Lyle arrived, he tested positive to both heartworms and ehrlichia canis titer. Further medical tests revealed a tumor on his small intestine, which was surgically removed along with 7" of the small intestine. Tests determined the tumor to be non malignant. It has been a long recovery for Lyle, but he has now completed all of his medical procedures. This special boy is ready to find his forever home!
Lyle should be in a home where there are other dogs.
Lyle is not cat tolerant.
Lyle is a super sweet love bug. He is not timid though he can be unsure of things at first and does much better with a canine companion to show him what’s what. He plays well with other breeds - medium sized and up. We have not tested him with really small dogs yet. Sorry, kitties are not welcome in Lyle's world.
Lyle has excellent house manners; he naturally had a few accidents when he first came to the house but none in the past 4 months. He is not a counter surfer. Lyle is not vocal inside the house, but that all changes as soon as he crosses the threshold to the backyard. He is very "talkative" in the backyard. Lyle will keep everyone safe from intruders, real or imagined!
We don't crate Lyle when we're away though we do have an open crate should he want some alone time which he doesn’t! He just wants to be with you and will follow you from room to room. If I’m working on something at the kitchen table, he will come and sit under the table just to be close. He loves his people. He eagerly welcomes us home every day with his excited bouncing.
Lyle’s traveled a difficult road to get ready to find his fur-ever home. Are you that special someone he’s been waiting and preparing for?
