GALTX
Leo Leo

Leo is an approximately 2½-year-old red fawn male picked up by GALT from the Midland Animal Control as a stray. A kind lady who spent several months trying to catch him on her property, turned him into animal control on February 18, 2010. He was very thin upon his arrival into GALT's family, weighing only 45 pounds. He is gaining weight gradually, and he still has a ways to go. Leo is cat tolerant and has not been tested with small animals at this time.

Leo

Leo is a great dog - very sweet and affectionate! He will quiet down and sleep when we are being still, but likes to follow us around the house when we're on the move. He sleeps quietly in his crate all night long. He likes to run and play chase with our other smaller dog in the back yard. His tail goes a mile a minute when he's happy and excited.

Leo

Leo is a very smart dog who catches on to things fast. We have trained him to stay back from the door when he is coming in the house, instead of rushing at the open door. We have also trained him to stay out of the way when we are filling his food bowl. He walks very well on the leash. Our other dog is trained to ring a bell hanging from the back door knob when she needs to go outside, and Leo has done that a couple of times.

He is very affectionate and asks for a lot of attention first thing in the morning. Sometimes he's so excited to be awake that he jumps up a little bit. He has not had an accident in the house and doesn't chew on anything except his chew bones. He likes to be with us and is a very good companion. He is tall enough to get food or things off the table or kitchen counter, but hasn't attempted to do so, not even once.

We have taken him with us to run errands a few times, and he is very cooperative and socially acceptable with other people. He also rides well in the car. He is a little timid when meeting new people, but warms up to them quickly. Leo is great at ignoring our cats and gets along very well with our female dog.
