Legend, aka USS Legend, is a 6-year-old fawn female born in August of 2000 to sire, Fortress and dam, J Hawk Jenny. Legend did not race, electing to take on the role of mama to her 17 puppies born in three litters. A sweet, quiet and very submissive lady, Legend has no interest in 'being the boss' around people or other dogs. All she wants to do is please, letting this be known with her toothy grin and wagging tail. Her house manners are top notch, and she is looking for a home where she can prove this. Legend has shown that she is not cat tolerant. However, she had little interest in the small dogs at a recent meet and greet.
Legend is a "perfect" girl and a joy to live with. She is quiet and affectionate without being pushy or demanding. She will follow me into my office and sleep under my desk while I'm working on the computer. She stays uncrated in the house or in the bedroom with my other greyhound. Although it is not necessary to crate Legend, she doesn't object to being crated. It's a good place to take a nap.
Legend gets along well with all my dogs (Doberman, Standard Poodle, Greyhound) and the dogs that my friends bring when they visit. She sleeps on her dog bed next to my bed at night, but I wouldn't be surprised if she sneaked a nap on my bed while I'm at work. She is not a barker, has never had an accident in the house, loves her food, and always is quick to come when she is called. What a good girl!
She prefers to be seen in her home environment as Meet and Greets are not her cup of tea. There she is nervous and acts rather shy; but at home and in the backyard she is friendly and playful. I know she would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a greyt new family member, especially if she is your first Greyhound. Let us know if you would like to visit with Legend.
