Jack, aka Crackerjack, is a 1½-year-old, white and black male born May 10, 2008. His sire is Flying Penske, and his dam is Say Its Easy. Jack unfortunately broke his right hock on his first lap around the Naples-Ft. Myers, FL track on Monday, November 2, 2009. Jack’s owner contacted GALT, and within 48 hours Jack was being evaluated by Dr. Jeff Ellis of VCA Preston Park Animal Hospital. After x-rays determined the break was specifically the left calcaneous extending to the fourth tarsal bone, Jack was referred to Dr. Bob Radash of the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center. Surgery was performed on Friday, November 6. Jack’s leg is all healed now, and he has completed his medical procedures. This sweet boy is ready to find his forever home! Jack is small dog and cat tolerant.
Jack has undergone a total transformation while at our house: from a fearful, shy boy to a confident, loving young man! At first he didn't seem to understand that we are an unconditional source of warmth and love, but now he absolutely loves loves loves his people - so much so that almost every single time one of us walks by his x-pen he gets up for some potential TLC (giving or receiving - he's happy with both).
Jack is confined to a large x-pen during his recovery, and I think it has helped to make him feel safe and secure. He has proven to be a very, very sweet boy, and will no doubt become someone's pride and joy once he is available. He loves to give lots of kisses and the occasional love nibble, and we are more than happy to oblige. Jack is a very deserving boy and will no doubt make your heart melt at first sight!
