Ivana is a black tattooed female who was found as a stray in Crowley, TX. We are trying to read her tattoos, but we believe she is about 4 years old.

Ivana is not considered cat tolerant at this time.

Update 1/12/15

When Ivana was originally evaluated Dr. Christy Soileau of VCA Preston Park Animal Hospital a heart murmur was detected. She has been referred to Dr. Kelly Nitsche of Animal Diagnostic Clinic for further evaluation.

Update 1/19/15

Ivana was seen by Dr. Kelly Nitsche on January 16. Testing was done that revealed Ivana is suffering from Bartonella Hensalae at a significant titer. This is a tick borne disease that can cause inflammation of the heart's muscles. Loud systolic murmurs are present on both sides of her thorax suggesting this inflammation with possibly myocarditis and endocarditis. Ivana has started on two different antibiotics for a minimum of six weeks. Dr. Nitsche will see her for another cardiac evaluation in approximately 8-10 weeks.

Update 3/30/15

Ivana was seen by Dr. Nitsche on March 30 for a re-evaluation and was given the all clear to proceed with her medical procedures, which were completed on April 28. Her recheck for her Bartonella titer is pending at this time.

Update 6/5/15

Ivana's Bartonella test results show her titer is negative at this time. However her examination reveals a grade 2-3 heart murmur, which is not unusual in adult greyhounds, and does not appear to be associated with a congenital defect.
