GALTX

Honey is a 10 year old blue brindle female born in 2012. She came to GALT as an owner surrender in Oklahoma. We will test for cat and small animal tolerance soon.

Honey is a drop-dead gorgeous, blue brindle girl. At 10-years-young she is healthy and has great teeth. She isn't tattooed and never raced though she would prefer to be the top dog! True to her name, she's all about sweet kisses and cuddling and loving on her people. She's never met a stranger either. While she really enjoys walks and walks great on the leash, Honey loves to zoom the backyard too! Riding in our van is another favorite activity. She behaves well and gets in and out on her own with no assistance.

Mealtimes are the highlight of her day although she's doing a little calorie counting right now to get her sleek greyhound body back in shape. Honey looks forward with delight to her evening snacks. She has her own internal clock so she can remind her people in case they happen to forget what time meals are due, or when it's cookie time.

The softest beds in the house are always Honey's first choice. She crates well when needed and does her best 'dead cockroach' impression wherever she's laying down. She does not chew inappropriately and although she adores toys, she's a little rough on stuffies. We keep a Kong, 'stuffingless' toys, and plenty of bones around for her to chew.

Honey is fully housebroken, well behaved, and has excellent house manners. She'll do well in a home with older children who respect her and she will also do fine as an only dog. She's a quiet girl, so she would likely live comfortably in an apartment. Honey hasn't yet been tested with cats or small dogs, though she shows little interest in the squirrels and bunnies that frequent our backyard. If you're looking for a happy-go-lucky senior, Queen Bee, Miss Honey's your girl!
