Franco is an estimated 8 month old smooth black male staghound puppy. He and Medina were rescued from a cruelty seizure in Mangum, OK. They were found with five other dogs who had died from starvation and dehydration. A third survivor was adopted by the family of one of the vets who cared for them after the rescue.
Franco is named after the police officer who rescued him. Franco was treated for a suspected parasitic fungus on his face, which has cleared. Because he and Medina arrived very dehydrated and thin, they are being cared for in a loving foster home. It is thought his mother is Medina. A DNA test shows Franco is a German Shepher / Boxer / Whippet / Greyhound / Husky Mix. It is not known at this time if Franco is small animal or cat tolerant.
