Ellie is an approximately 3-year-old white and fawn female found as a stray. Ellie, like Ellis, was turned into the Ellis County SPCA in Waxahachie, and it is amazing how much they look alike. Ellie’s condition upon arrival indicated she'd had puppies very recently. She was heartworm positive and had a positive titer to Ehrlichia. Dr. Jeff Ellis and Dr. Christy Soileau of VCA Preston Park Animal Hospital successfully treated Ellie for the heartworms and the Ehrlichia. Ellie now tests negative to heartworms, and although her titer has dropped drastically, a PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) Panel was submitted to determine if the Ehrlichia is active, and the results are negative at this time. It is not known at this time if Ellie is small animal or cat tolerant.
Ellie is enjoying being a foster in a pack of big dogs. She loves running laps in the yard with my other greyhounds and poodle. So far she has been tolerant of small dogs such as Manchester Terriers. She is very lovable and loves to go for rides in the van even if it is to the vet. She has gained weight and looks lovely. She is very sweet and loves people, although she may seem shy at first. She is very well behaved in the house with absolutely no bad habits. Give this sweet girl a chance to warm up to you and she may just be the one to find a forever home with you.
