Dixon, aka Atascocita Dixon, is a 3-year-old red male born August 27, 2013. His sire is Atascocita Bowl and his dam is Atascocita Edith. He has no races on record. He may not have been destined to races on the track, but he will happily race to his forever home!
Dixon is not considered cat tolerant at this time.Dixon was in a home for 6 months, but has returned to GALT due to separation anxiety. He would be much happier in a home with another dog for companionship during the day.
The third digit on Dixon's left rear foot is inflamed and very swollen. Diagnostic tests and x-rays are being conducted to find the source at this time.
Biopsy test and x-ray results were inconclusive. Dixon was seen by Dr. Dennis Crow of Animal Dermatology Referral Clinic who diagnosed plantar warts/lesions on multiple digits of Dixon's feet. All were scraped and cauterized. He has started interferon treatment and will be rechecked in 30 days.
Dixon continues to respond very well to the interferon treatment for his warts/lesions. This is something he will continue under the direction of Dr. Crow. The cost for this medication is approximately $35 for 6 weeks.
