Clad, aka TB's Iron Clad, is a 2½-year-old brindle male born November 16, 2010. His sire is Lonesome Cry and his dam is FTK Texas Dolly. Clad has 61 races on record, moving from Dubuque to Palm Beach, and then to Gulf Greyhound Park. His first race was on April 23, 2012 and he finished on May 24, 2013, with his career coming to an abrupt end with a leg broken in two places. He is scheduled for surgery on May 30th at the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center.
Clad has passed an initial cat test.
Clad's surgery on March 30 by Dr. Bob Radasch was very involved and tedious. Not only was his right central tarsal bone fractured in 4 places, but his 4th tarsal bone was also broken. It was a very difficult repair, but he is hopeful that the arthrodesis will be successful. Clad will be in a cast for the next 10 weeks with at least weekly bandage changes.
X-rays revealed Clad's injury has healed and his cast could now be removed. He will be leash walked for the next 2-3 weeks during which he will complete his medical procedures.
Clad is healed and ready to find a forever home!
