Arana is an estimated 4 year old, black female galgo born around December 2015. She was found as a stray on the streets of Buenos Aries, Argentina in August 2019. Although galgo/greyhound racing was outlawed in 2016 in Argentina, many are still used for illegal racing as well as hunting. When their use is finished, they are let go to fend for themselves. It is very fortunate that GALT was contacted by Maria Bradford in March 2019, who regularly visits her family in Argentina. Arana is the 4th galgo to arrive into GALT’s family with the help of Maria and “her girls” in Argentina. Little else is known about Arana’s history prior to her coming to the United States. At this time this sweet, sweet girl is living comfortably with cats, so is considered to be cat tolerant.
