March 6 & 7, 2010
This year's Irish Festival was bigger and better than ever - and the perfect weather on Saturday certainly contributed to its success! There were dogs everywhere - greyhounds galore, plus all types of other hounds. The food was fabulous (if not too healthy!), and there was no shortage of entertainment or merchandise for the discriminating shopper.
This year, GALT unveiled its new banners containing pictures and information about our Irish Greys - and we sold numerous shamrock plants, dog collars and other items to raise funds for boarding and medical expenses. Despite the inclement weather on Sunday, we had a constant stream of visitors at our booth on both days - from "tire kickers" and others new to the breed - to current greyhound owners and/or people interested in pursuing adoption or fostering opportunities. The lucky green donation vests worn by the hounds also brought in quite a few donations!
Thanks to all who brought fosters or kennel dogs for this very special Meet & Greet -- and also to those who supported us by attending the event with their own greys.
