March 1 & 2, 2003
The 21st North Texas Irish Festival held on March 1 and 2, 2003, was a GREYT success and just a heck of a LOT of fun for all of us greyhound lovers. It was like a family reunion for the GALT greys, with almost 40 of us humans and almost that many greys helping spread the word of these wonderful companion pets over the two days' activities. It was wonderful to have Sue Ross from Silk Road Collars in Dallas for the first time, joining Carmon Deyo and Mike Dibble of Black Horse Design. Both Sue and Black Horse Design were very, very generous to donate a portion of their sales for the two-day event to GALT. We are most appreciative to them for helping us support and care for our greys.
The GALT booth won the Second Place Trophy for "Best Cultural Display Booth" of all the many, many cultural exhibitors at the Festival. That was a GREYT surprise! The lucky volunteers winning prizes each day were: Mary Hoiles, Becki Denetz, Kris Schuster, and Keith Woodcox. Black Horse Design donated a $35 gift certificate in appreciation of all GALT's participating volunteers and the winner was Kristin Fields! GALT's own Phil Carlson was the big winner of the raffle drawing for the $50 Houston's gift certificate.
This is one of the most fun and informative annual events in which we participate, and on behalf of the GALTs greyhounds, many thanks to:
