Bob Woodruff Park
Operation Kindness' 8th Annual Dog Day Afternoon took place at Bob Woodruff Park in Plano, Texas on Saturday, August 03, 2002, from 9am to 1pm.
Despite the very hot temperatures, the day was very successful for both GALT and Operation Kindness. Overall, there were well over 200 dogs and their families participating in the judged events or just hanging out in the baby pools trying to stay cool and watch all the activities. Just about every dog breed could be found.
GALT's available greyhounds were well represented at our assigned area, as well as with several families that took the opportunity to bring their hounds out to see and participate in the events. GALT's primo location on the front end of the pavilion gave us an opportunity to welcome all attendees and show off our very friendly greyhounds and you know how they are about greeting everyone!
GALT sincerely appreciates the opportunity to be a part of this worthwhile traditional event benefiting Operation Kindness, DFW's oldest and largest no-kill shelter. We look forward to next year and hope everyone will plan to help OK in their fundraising efforts to support the over 2800 animals they assist every year. Be sure and check out the pictures of some of the greys, their families and other dogs that attended.
