Shipley, aka Kiowa Shipaway, is a 4 year old brindle female born March 13, 2012. Her sire is BD's Grayson, and her dam is Flying Titantic. She has no races to her credit on Greyhound-Data.com. Shipley was found as a stray by Fort Worth Animal Control and Care on Monday, March 7. Because she was in such bad shape, GALT was contacted immediately to take her. She is very underweight at under 49 pounds, lethargic due to a fever and is suffering from a very enlarged spleen and liver, along with fluid around her lungs. Her Protatek test results reveal a very, very high titer to Ehrlichia Canis. She is being cared for by the excellent staff of vets at VCA Preston Park Animal Hospital. Please keep this sweet girl in your thoughts - her whereabouts until found by FWACC are a mystery, but it is obvious she has been severely neglected.
X-rays revealed a tumor in Shipley's spleen which had ruptured, sending her into a rapid decline. Shipley's journey to the rainbow bridge was peaceful with her loving GALT family by her side.
The special medical treatment cost needed by Shipley is why the Miss Mesa Fund was established. If you would like to help with Shipley's care, please take a moment to make a donation to the fund. You WILL and CAN make a difference in Shipley's life and the lives of other greyhounds in need of special medical care. Your help and support will make a difference - one greyhound at a time.
