Ford is an approximately 3 year old dark brindle male found as a stray and picked up by Tulia Animal Control in west Texas. ord was taken to Animal Medical Center in Amarillo where he was under the medical care of Dr. Wick Culp and his caring staff. Ford has a positive titer to Ehrlichia Canis, and his 6 week treatment will start as soon as a foster home is secured. Ford is not considered cat or small animal tolerant.
Ford's blood tests indicate he has been successfully treated for the positive titer to Ehrlichia Canis, and his PCR test is negative. This boy has completed all his medical procedures and is ready to find his forever home!
If you need proof that good things come in small packages, just meet Ford and you'll have no doubt about the truth in that proverb. He has so much love squeezed into a little 60 pound body! Ford is a very sweet dog who loves attention and human contact. He adapted to living with our two greys immediately and took direction from them like a pro.
Ford loves his walks and keeps right next to your knee at a friendly pace. He is a very relaxed grey, more likely to watch the other dogs play and find a spot where he can put his head on your lap than to join in the fray. That said, he is just learning to carry around toys and looks extremely cute doing so! He seems to convey that he is happy to have found a warm, dry place where someone will care for him. He is still learning that thunderstorms won't hurt him and will need someone who is patient to help him overcome that fear. Ford is more on the low energy side of the spectrum. He will likely do best in a home with another dog (or more) and no kitties.
Ford would love a home where he can hang out with his human(s) most of the time, whether it is on the sofa watching a show or running errands around town.Ford's Foster Family
