Chase, aka Superior Chase, is a handsome, 19-month-old fawn male, born February 21, 2006. His sire is the late Gable Dodge, making his grand sire Wigwam Wag, and his dam is Rooftop Pat, making his grand sire Molotov. As you see, Chase has quite a successful heritage, however on Sunday, November 25, 2007, at Valley Race Park in Harlingen, all that came to an end. Chase broke his right hock, specifically the Central Tarsal Bone. Surgery was performed by Dr. Robert Barstad of the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center on Friday, November 30. Screws were placed to stabilize the fracture, and Chase was officially released by Dr. Barstad on February 14th to find his forever home!
It appears that Chase will be cat tolerant, but as always, caution should be exercised with a Greyhound and cat.
Chase is a big, tall boy with one gorgeous face! The 5 o'clock shadow on his muzzle is quite striking and makes him very handsome. He is a young boy and has learned his house manners very quickly. He responds very well to "no" when it is required (which is very seldom) and knows his name and will come when he is called.
He has recovered well from his broken leg and enjoys playing with toys now! I havent found a toy that he doesnt like! He still has a slight limp but I notice improvement each day. He gets along very well with the other dogs in the house and also crates nicely during the day while I am at work. Chase is very friendly and happy and was a favorite at the clinic where he went for his weekly bandage changes during his recovery.
Chase is a gentle, quiet boy who doesnt demand a lot of attention. He is very content to be in the same room with his humans and will occasionally come up for some petting. He will find a toy and take it to his bed or spot on the floor and lay next to it until he needs to get up and follow you to the next room!
Chase is full of sweetness and deserves a life of retirement that is filled with lots of stuffy toys, strolls through the neighborhood and lots of soft things on which to lay and take naps!Chase's Foster Mom
