Ebony, the one who started it all
by Mik Wilkens
She came into our lives on January 6, 1995, a petite black 6-year-old girl. Our very first greyhound. Our only greyhound - at least that was the plan. Three months later, we adopted our second. Our third arrived about a year after that, and so on, until there were five.
But today there are only four, and there's an empty place in my heart and in my home, but everywhere I look and everything I do reminds me of her, and always will. She introduced me to greyhounds, to new friends and experiences. She gave me a passion. She changed my life.
Goodbye, my sweet girl. Thank you so much for everything you gave us. Run free at the Bridge. We will never forget you.
